Welcome to your unique opportunity to allow what you treasure most to “stay gold.”
Many say artists and writers are introverts and use their craft to escape-escape to a “safe place.”
And that could be true in part for some. For me, it is far from a truth.
Creating and writing are more of an exposition in the end. An exposition of my mind. A baring of my soul. And that, my friend, is NOT safe. It is, on the contrary, an escape FROM a safe place.
Creation of the new is a challenge, a step outside a comfort zone, a pushing of mental and emotional limits, a risk, an unearthing of the inner-most parts of the soul. And putting that naked and raw newness out there beyond your mind and hands to be critiqued, analyzed, judged by others who may not understand, or who may connect like they have never connected before is an uneasy that makes creating so fantastic.
My art is experimental and my poetry is a deeply disturbing chaos of mind scribbles.
I had to come to terms with erasing my expectations I’d measuring up, comparing, perfecting. Because, art is never meant to be be perfect, never meant to follow a recipe, never meant to exist like another’s.
And that’s where I found a confidence in stepping fb into the “not safe escape” and let it all pour out in every which way for the world to do with what they want.
This is me. These are the raw and rugged parts of me; the dark, the light, the acceptances and fights, the confessions and strange and unusual I feel are blessings untangled from my mind, hidden behind my mask in daily life.
It may not be preferred by everyone, but I humbly present my paradox, my dichotomy of insecurities and confidence to the world.
Love it, hate it, compare it, criticize it, admire it, relate to it, stare at it, walk away from it.
It is a strange beauty to me when it is released. But that, I suppose, is the seduction of art.

Finalizing and perfecting the art entails sanding, buffing, sealing, glazing or painting, firing, and adding personalization.
